Simon began his career in film and television working as an assistant director on major feature films – including Tim Burton’s ‘Corpse Bride’, ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘The Water Giant’. He also worked on numerous commercials and music videos for global brands such as Coca Cola, BMW, Loreal, Virgin, Sony, Coldplay, and The Streets before moving into documentary in 2005. His film ‘The Last Freak Show’ was commissioned by Channel 4 – the largest commercial network in the UK – and met with profound critical acclaim. It went on to win awards across the globe, including Best Documentary and Best Director and is still touring the festival circuit. As well as being a writer for both film and television, Simon has created documentary, reality and drama for numerous networks. From filming the lives of sideshow freaks, going undercover with neo-Nazis and undergoing strange shamanic rituals in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, Simon’s work has led him to some pretty weird places. And he’s loving every minute of it.
